As part of the CC Global Summit, a translation sprint on Open GLAM is being organized by OpenGLAM and Europeana‘s Copyright Community. We’ll be translating some core documents to make the case that digital reproductions of public domain materials should be openly and freely available.
- Europeana’s Public Domain Usage Guidelines
- Europeana’s Public Domain Charter
- The Open GLAM Survey
- CC blog post: Reproductions of Public Domain Works Should Remain in the Public Domain
- CC blog post: Sharing Indigenous Cultural Heritage Online: An Overview of GLAM Policies
The Public Domain Usage Guidelines and the Public Domain Charter translations will be published on Europeana’s website. The Open GLAM Survey and the translations of CC’s blog posts will be published on the Open GLAM Medium publication, with an attribution to the translator.
During the Summit, we’ll be holding some translation hours and workshops. You can also ask questions and get connected by joining the #cc-openglam channel in the Creative Commons Slack.
